Aconit 9 CH
High fever after chills — the "shivering fever"
following sudden chilling or exposure to intense cold
following sunstroke or heatstroke
sudden onset with very high fever between midnight and 2am
red mucous membranes, flushed and radiating burning face, dry skin (no sweating)
anxious, sthenic restlessness with intense thirst for cold water
early laryngotracheitis
5 pellets every 2 hours. Space out as the fever begins to drop
Belladonna 9 CH
Rapid-onset fever, then oscillating (bell-shaped) fever
red, hot skin with sweating, especially on the face
congestion of the head and face
dryness of the mouth and other mucous membranes with intense thirst
cough with spasm and dryness of the respiratory mucous membranes
sensory hyperesthesia (worse from light and noise)
restlessness or prostration. In practice, Belladonna is given after Aconitum as soon as sweating appears.

Moderate Fevers
Ferrum phosphoricum 7 CH
Mild fever (38°-38.5°C), onset stage of eruptive illnesses
localized congestive and hemorrhagic signs (nosebleeds)
earache with congested eardrum: acute congestive ear infections
tracheitis and dry cough with retrosternal pain

high fever with gradual onset and a flushed, crimson face
frontal and occipital headache with heaviness in the eyeballs, preceded or accompanied by visual disturbances (double vision)
listlessness, prostration, dullness, body aches, great fatigue
chills that may progress to trembling, followed by sweating
no thirst

high fever with gradual onset after getting soaked in the rain or chilled while sweating from exertion

seeks warmth, burrows under the covers, and feels as if ice-cold water were poured over them when uncovered, causing chills and coughing
thirst for cold water or cold milk
perioral herpes (cold sore)
